Kimberly Moorhead

Learning to understand ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences is a lifelong practice. Sometimes this process can feel isolating and confusing. My hope in your time with me, whether you come for yourself or with your partner, is to provide a space for you to feel heard and supported. Our lives are also lived in contexts of overlapping systems of oppression, injustice, and discrimination that disconnect us from ourselves and each other. I believe that awareness of oppressive systems is critical in understanding an individual’s mental health, and is woven into my therapy work through a systematic, multicultural, and anti-oppression lense.

I've worked with individuals seeking support for stress in relationships, neurodiversity, queer and trans identity, trauma, anxiety, and depression. My past couples work involves supporting couples where one partner is managing a chronic medical or mental health condition, couples adjusting after a significant life event, couples in separation, and couples exploring non-traditional dynamics like polyamory or non-monogamy.

I have my PsyD in clinical psychology, and am a currently licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). My approach in therapy is based in collaboration and guided by a client’s needs and identities. I am skilled in providing therapy, but you are the expert on yourself.  While I tailor my work to what you need, I draw from my training in things like acceptance and commitment therapy, feminist theory, and Gottman Method for couples to help you meet your goals.

Outside of my work, I enjoy a variety of hobbies including crochet, video games, and exploring the outdoors.
