About Colleen

I was born and grew up in the Midwest and have spent my adult life on the West Coast, settling in the Eugene area to raise my children. As a mother, I understand the delicate balance of caretaking, identity, and the unpredictable challenges of family life. This personal chapter of my life has deepened my empathy and reinforced my commitment to life-long learning and building relationships as part of who I am personally and professionally.I see choosing to engage in therapy as a positive and hopeful act and I hope that I can join you on your path to improve the areas of your life that you find challenging. My goal is to collaborate with clients to uncover new ways of experiencing and being in the world.

My work is grounded in humanistic and client centered theory with a belief that we all possess an innate drive to become better versions of ourselves. I enjoy building a warm, accepting environment where you can feel accepted and able to focus on your development without fear of judgement. I am inspired and energized by exploring client’s strengths and areas of resilience. In addition to building a foundational therapeutic relationship with clients, I draw on elements of Dialectical Behavioral Theory (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to meet you as an individual. Most of my work is done with adults and emerging adults who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, postpartum issues, grief, and relationship concerns. My background as a yoga instructor also informs my practice by bringing mindfulness and body awareness to sessions.
