What I believe…
I believe every person has the right to make their own choices, and those choices shape the life they are living. Counseling is like a pit stop—a space to pause and view your life from a new perspective. Sometimes, we’re unable to see the blind spots that keep us from living fully, or past trauma clouds our ability to recognize the wonderful
parts of ourselves that others can easily see. As your counselor, my role is to serve as a mirror—to help you see more clearly what you bring to the world and what might be holding you back from expressing your best self. I view counseling as a journey, not a destination. There’s no need to rush; together,
we’ll move through the process at a pace that feels right for you. My primary goal is to offer a compassionate and supportive environment where you can grow and heal in your own time. The approach I use to achieve this goal is through a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
theory and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). IFS is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help individuals achieve greater self-awareness, compassion, and integration. CBT & DBT are two forms of psychotherapy or “talk therapy” that helps you learn skills to help manage challenges on your own. CBT teaches you how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence each other while DBT helps you cope with extreme or unstable emotions and harmful behaviors. EMDR is a psychotherapy technique that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic or
distressing experiences. Who I serve…
I serve individuals, couples, children and families struggling with trauma, PTSD,
addictions to alcohol and substances and codependency. My formal education and experience… I have a BA in Spanish and Business through Portland State University. I will have a Master of Science in Counseling through Southeastern University in Fall of 2025. In addition, I have spent the last ten years working in the field of recovery for codependency, alcohol and drug addiction.
