About Me

Orion Meints, (they/them)

Therapy holds a lot of power. It can be a place for you to explore who you are, what you want, how you can grow, what could be changed, what there is to celebrate. I hope to serve as a guide as you decide what comes next. I myself am queer and nonbinary, and for those of you who are (or think you might be) in the community, we can explore your sexuality and gender, from identity to presentation, relationships, to social or medical transition. If you need a letter for gender affirming procedures, I can write it. If you are autistic, have ADHD, or are in some other way neurodivergent, we will approach therapy with the lens of your neurotype, tailored to be affirming of how you and your mind work. Much of my focus as a therapist is on trauma, of all types and severity. We can collaborate to address PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other effects of trauma such as impact on the body, avoidance, hypervigilance, depression, and anxiety. I offer EMDR and somatics for trauma in addition to verbal processing. For those with DID, I provide both individual and group therapy. As a social worker, it is important for me to look not just at the mind, but also relationships, community, and larger societal systems. I find it crucial to consider how systems of capitalism, white supremacy, ableism, transphobia, and other areas of oppression impact the mental health of each of us. My goal is to approach our work together with curiosity and humility, and hold a space that is safe and welcoming. As we build trust, we gain a growing ability to make the progress you want to see.
