About Sam

Growing up in Minnesota, I learned the importance of community care and that even when the outside world feels cold, warmth can be found within ourselves and with others. Everyone’s unique story and experiences shape who they are and who they want to become, and these values guide my work as a counselor. We live in a constantly changing world, and you may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain

about yourself and your relationships. You may be carrying a lot, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I approach therapy as a collaborative process. You are the expert of your own life, and I am here to walk alongside you. Taking the first step can feel scary, whether therapy is new or familiar. Healing looks different for everyone. I aim to help you slow down, explore your experiences and

identities with curiosity and care, and better understand the patterns shaping your life and relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and diverse family systems, creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported while gently encouraging growth. At times, I may gently point out patterns or inconsistencies to support deeper insight and growth, while maintaining a nonjudgmental and collaborative space. My work is rooted in the belief that change happens through connection with ourselves, others,

and the world around us. I draw from Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills such as mindfulness and emotional regulation, integrating these approaches to fit

your unique needs and goals. I have experience supporting people across ages and backgrounds navigating life transitions, trauma, identity exploration, and personal growth. I am honored to be part of the team at WVBH and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in

Couples and Family Therapy at the University of Oregon. I am committed to lifelong learning and strive to provide collaborative, affirming, and culturally attuned care tailored to you identities and experiences. Outside of work, you can find me soaking up the natural world, crocheting, listening to records, laughing, and spending time with loved ones.
